Pride Toronto released its slate of artists for the 2017 Pride Festival Weekend June 21 – 25! The lineup is a diverse mix of local and international DJs, recording artists, performance artists and much more. These artists compliment Pride Month’s 25 days of exciting cultural and affiliate events, which begin June 1, 2017.
Pride Toronto is proud to present the living legends of the 70s and 80s disco era—Boney M. (featuring Liz Mitchell). Joining the bill are Purple Disco Machine with a deep funk DJ set, drawing upon 70s and 80s-era disco and funk; LA-born soulful pop vocalist and dancer, Gavin Turek; and Montreal’s Jojoflores. You can catch them all Friday, June 23 at Yonge-Dundas Square.
The prolific Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King will be Blockorama’s headlining act for it’s 19th year as one of Pride’s biggest, most well-attended and lively events. This incredible celebration of Black, Caribbean, and African communities will also feature Cakes Da Killa, DJ Black Cat, Craig Dominic, Pleasure, Nik Red, Carma, and Vaughan. Head to the TD Wellesley Stage on June 25 from 12pm – 11pm to check it out!
Years & Years, one of the UK’s biggest breakthrough bands and a strong voice on LGBTQ issues, will take the stage to headline The Final Play at Yonge-Dundas Square on June 25. They will be joined by Grammy-nominated dream pop trio King, Canada’s premier Spice Girls tribute group Wannabe, Toronto’s own party rocker DJ Lissa Monet and DJ Emily Sbux.
