The largest LGBT charity in the US is aiming to hit Donald Trump where it really hurts: in next year’s election!
The Human Rights Campaign has put together a war chest of $26 million, which constitutes its biggest grassroots investment in the 37 years since it was founded.
Recruiting at least 20 additional full-time staff to join “more than two dozen existing staff working on the initiative. The programme is HRC Rising, seeking “mobilise constituents, register voters and grow the organisation’s grassroots army to flex big political muscle in legislatures and at the ballot box.”
It’s a push on winning the Senate races in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
The main goal is to accelerate the pace of progress toward full equality and secure protections for LGBTQ people in states and communities across the country.
