We’re Number 3!

Beat out by Madrid and Amsterdam respectively. But right in the middle of the earth’s top 5 cities it’s great to be gay in, is still a cozy place to be.

Who else made the top 5? Tel Aviv (I know, I was surprised too) and London.

Oddly enough, Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, didn’t even make the list! Not because Philadelphia isn’t LGBTQ friendly, they just weren’t polled. No one knows why.

NYC was voted a great place to date but rated ninth while Boston’s lack of ‘openness in the city’ landed them at 52.

How did we arrive at these numbers? Nestpick, “an aggregator for furnished apartments across Europe,” asked more than 2,500 people in 40 countries about lifestyle, safety and LGBT rights, and ranked each city.

So what was the least gay friendly city in the world?

Beijing.

Go figure.

You can see the whole list here.
