The number of HIV diagnoses in gay and bisexual men has fallen for the first time since the epidemic

Good news!  A new report from the Public Health England shows a decline in new HIV diagnoses among gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men. Since the epidemic was first detected over 30 years ago, there has been a 21% decline of cases of the virus from 3,570 in 2015 to 2,810 in 2016.

The estimated annual number of new infections acquired in gay and bisexual men has declined year on year, from a peak of around 2,800 in 2012 to 1,700 in 2016.
