Saturdays & Sundays 3pm to 6pm
Stark is a creative writer, an awkward dancer, an accidental VIP, and a dyke about town. She considers the whole queer spectrum of Toronto to be her home, from Queer Street West to the Village, to St. Jamestown and Lesbianville. She loves free stuff and going to all kinds of events, from discos and concerts to political rallies, around the city.
Throughout the years, she has carved out a living for herself using numerous dubious talents, including populating dance floors for lesser-known DJs, writing travel guides and articles for TripAdvisor.com and Private Islands Magazine, slinging hash at dive bars, handling top-secret government documents, dancing around in men’s clothing, and crafting award-winning radio creative.
For her work on PROUD FM’s International Coming Out Day campaign in 2010 she received a Crystal Award for excellence in Canadian radio creative. For her ongoing pursuit of projects, both commercial and volunteer-based, that serve queer communities, women’s empowerment, underprivileged youth, Canadian newcomers, and independent artists, she receives the satisfaction of knowing she hasn’t yet given up on her belief in a better world for everyone.
To contact Stark with your opinions, events, or just to say hello, email email@example.com, and read up on her adventures as an Accidental VIP at accidentalvip.com.
Stark happened into the glamorous world of radio as she does most things: by accident. And now she can’t imagine anywhere else she would rather be. Tune in to hear Stark, Your Dyke About Town, weekends from 3pm to 6pm on 103.9 PROUD FM!
