It’s not the news many wanted, but Ontario’s striking college faculty has voted to reject the latest contract offer, and as a result, the strike will continue. In a statement released this morning, Sonia Del Missier (the chair of the College’s Bargaining Team) said, “This is a terrible result for the 500,000 students who remain out of class. I completely sympathize with our students who have been caught in this strike for more than four weeks. This strike has gone on for too long – and we still need to resolve it and get our students and faculty back in class.” It’s expected that Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne will meet with college and union representatives today in an effort to resolve the situation.
